PolyStrong is a non-profit organization established in 2017 to instill and empower Pacific Islanders with a new vision of who they are, the value of their culture, and the innate capacity they possess to become leaders in today's global industries and society.
Recently featured in large media outlets like Forbes and Entrepreneur, Philip and Melissa Niu are quickly forging the path as the thought leaders in the upcoming wave of an estimated $335 billion industry by 2025. Parachut, the brainchild of Philip and his wife, Melissa Niu, is setting a new bar which experts are validating as a catalyst that will change the face of consumerism and ownership in industries all over the world starting with photography and camera equipment.
Philip was highly recruited as a stand out athlete out of Arizona and chose to play tight end at Brigham Young University. From humble beginnings, Philip learned from his Tongan father to value experiences and relationships over stuff. Giving others access to things that bring great human connection and experiences is the fuel behind Parachut as he drives a mission to a more responsible and impactful way for us all to enjoy life. Awarded as a Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneur, Philip leads his company with a “people first” mentality.
As a former volleyball collegiate athlete Middle Blocker at Washington State University, Melissa set conference records as a Pac-12 standout. Upon graduation, Melissa started her career in front of the camera at NBC in Seattle and Fox Sports while branching into Corporate Marketing for the Seattle Seahawks before making the jump to the entrepreneurial world. Now recognized as a Top 30 Women to Watch in Business, she’s teamed up with her husband to continue to build what Utah calls a “Top 10 Startup to Watch”.
Now living in American Fork, Philip and Melissa are busy building a technology company, serving in the community and raising a family with their three daughters, Liv, Charli and Naomi and brand new baby boy, Maikeli.
